In this article, Vander Heyde describes the graceful combination of artworks and vintage design furniture exhibited at La Passe Simple Gallery.
We can read in the magazine :
*”Slow down as you walk back up the promenade through Zandstraat. Behind a discreet facade hides Passé Simple, a true sanctuary for mid-century design and art lovers. Christophe Declercq, its founder, has an unmatched eye for beauty. He effortlessly combines pieces by Pierre Chapo, Charlotte Perriand, and Olavi Hanninen with carefully sourced vintage finds. Wood, travertine, ceramic, and mother-of-pearl : natural materials reign supreme.
Passé Simple’s selection is also enriched by carefully chosen artworks. Christophe is the exclusive distributor in Northern Europe of the creations of the late Georges Pelletier. This ceramist left his mark on design in the 60s and 70s with his solar lamps and totems, which have now become rare treasures (…). Since last summer, the colorful works of Caroline Rennequin have joined Christophe’s selection. Her vibrant pieces celebrate a distinctly contemporary joy of living.”
