Grande Fleur gouache de Caroline Rennequin

Gouache painting on paper from the 'Flowers' series by Caroline Rennequin

height: 170 cm - width: 130 cm

Caroline Rennequin concurrently pursues a multidisciplinary personal artistic practice, in which questions of the foreign, the intimate, and the feminine, as well as the relationships between craftsmanship, popular culture, non-Western art, and contemporary art, hold a prominent place.

This is evidenced by her latest series of 301 gouache paintings on paper created in 2020, titled “That’s All Folks!”, centered around the universal motif of the flower.

Caroline Rennequin

CAROLINE RENNEQUIN, born in 1970, lives and works in Paris.

Graduated from École Estienne in 1988, Duperré in 1990, and finally from the Arts Décoratifs in 1993, Caroline Rennequin now pursues a career as a “set designer” for fashion and luxury. As the artistic director for the Jérôme Dreyfuss brand since 2007, following her work with Isabel Marant and Annick Goutal, she creates all the decorations for the designer’s storefronts and boutiques (sculptures, furniture, paintings, and wall drawings).

In parallel, she maintains a multidisciplinary personal artistic practice, where themes of the unknown, the intimate, the feminine, and the relationships between craftsmanship, popular culture, non-Western art, and contemporary art play a significant role. This is evident in her latest series of 301 gouaches on paper created in 2020, titled “That’s All Folks!”, which revolves around the universal motif of the flower.

She has exhibited on several occasions, including at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris in 2010, as part of the Circuit céramique group exhibition at Deyrolle (rue du Bac, Paris) in 2014, at the Danysz Gallery in 2016 as part of the collective exhibition “Le Dessin sous toutes ses formes,” at the Biennale de Paname in 2018 and 2019, as well as at the Parisian Jean Fournier Gallery, which invited her to present a solo exhibition in 2022.
